Olympic Gymnastics, London 2012
We have just enjoyed two more fantastic days with our top 100 gymnasts.
We were fortunate enough to take our oldest gymnasts to the Olympic Qualifying
gymnastics competitions in the O2 arena on the 16th & 17th January.
We had the best seats in the arena and watched the best of the world compete
for their Olympic places.
We look forward with anticipation to putting some of the highlights learned
into routines for our Arts Competition on the 24th March.
Our sincere commiserations go to the British team, who missed out on
places at London 2012 by less than three tenths of a mark, just a couple
of errors from achieving their dream.
Rhythmic Coaching
In encouraging our Arts competition on the 24th March, all juniors and
seniors are going to receive some expert rhythmic gymnastic coaching from
national level gymnasts and coach from the I-Star club.
There will be no additional charge for these sessions which will be at the
gymnasts usual session times on the 1st & 2nd, 8th & 9th February.
The sessions will be for the 5 & 6pm groups on Wednesdays and the 5pm, 6pm &
7pm groups on Thursdays.
Vacancies for Spring Term 2012
The term is running from Tuesday 3rd January to Friday 30th March.
As of the 17th January we have a few vacancies in each of the Thursday groups
for girls, and for a few Pre-school boys on a Friday at 1 or 1.30pm.
Sorry but there are short waiting lists for school age boys, for Wednesday girls
and for Pre-school (not yet full time Reception) girls.
If you are interested in your child joining please let us know so that
we can contact you if further vacancies arise.
12th Arts Festival Competition -
24th March 2012
Nearly a hundred gymnasts performed in the last competition, watched by a
large appreciative audience. The next competition features Ribbon Solos,
Hoop & Beam Pairs and the ever popular Acrobatic Sixes.
Entries (for Year 3 and above) will be arranged by 24th February
with extra voluntary practices on the 2nd, 9th and 16th March.
The Acrobatic Sixes winners and runners-up will be invited to perform
at the South of England Show at Ardingly on 9th June 2012.

decorations, scarves, calendars, chutneys and much more will once again
be available - with refreshments.
Hurstpierpoint Family Bonfire &
Fireworks 2011
Thank you to everyone who came and supported all of the participating groups.
Heart Radio's "Heart's Angels" attended and quickly established a
rapore with the children.
Meteor gave us an excellent display - followed by a wonderful
bonfire, decorated with no fewer than 15 'Guys'.
Congratulations to the best Guy makers Angus & Monty Graham,
and to the runner-up Peter Bullivant.
The beneficiaries of this event are the Club, Oldland Mill Trust,
Birchwood Grove PTA and the Friends of Hassocks Infants School.
Book Sunday 4th November 2012 for our next bonfire.
Lord Mayor's Show - November 2011
How good was that ?
Front places at St.Paul's Cathedral with Stephen Fry, free programmes,
excellent service in Pizza Hut, brilliant fun in Trafalgar Square,
sympathy & understanding at the Cenotaph,
rounded off with the Lord Mayor's Fireworks on the Thames.
Add excellent behaviour all day, very kind weather and superb parent help.
All those who came are congratulated on a memorable day - well done.
28th Annual Championships - July 2011
The 28th Championships finished with 90 gymnasts having competed in

we present Club Champion and Runners-up medals to those who have passed
the most agilities to the club standard. Congratulations to all this
year's winners.
