25th Annual Championships July 2008
This year's Championships included Floor Solos, Vault and Acrobatic Pairs competitions. The competitions were free and were open to any Year 3 and above boys or girls who wished to take part. We seem to be constantly talking of record entries - but with over 130 entries from 100+ gymnasts, more records were broken. Congratulations to all those who took part, particularly Madeleine Madgwick - who won the Junior Overall Chapionship, Rosie Zeidler who won the Senior Overall Championship and David Cobbett who won the Boys title. The 2009 Championships will be on the 30th June (Boys) and 4th July (Girls).
Swimming at the Triangle - 6th October 2008
Over 90 enjoyed our last subsidised swim in the Aztec Leisure Pool. Our thanks go to the management for a super evening. Our next swim is on the 6th October.
Bonfire & Fireworks - Sunday 2nd November 2008
This ever popular annual event is organised by the Club for the Parish Council.
2007 witnessed a record crowd enjoy our best ever fireworks and largest bonfire. Thank you everyone for your help and support. This year's event will be on Sunday 2nd November 2008.
Guildford Spectrum Visit - November 2007
Most of our Year 7+ joined Hurst Youth Council for the annual visit to the Guildford Spectrum for ice-skating, swimming and bowling. A fantastic memorable day was enjoyed by all. We are grateful to Hurst Parish Council's Events Committee for paying for the transport.
Christmas Fair - 2008
Thank you for your support of the successful 2007 Fair. We raised money for both the Village Centre and the Gym Club, while the Mothers Union raised money for the Hull Flood Victims. Please book 28th (6.30 - 9pm) & 29th (9.30am - 1pm) November 2008 and come for gifts, jewellery, cards, cakes, toys, books and many more ideas for Christmas.
South of England Show - June 2008
Well done all the Senior winners and runners-up from the Arts Competition and the Junior 6 winners who were invited to perform at this year's show at Ardingly. We have been congratulated on our performances at this prestigious event. Our performances in the West Sussex Youth Arena included Sports Acrobatic Sixes, Ribbon solos and cross-vaulting.
Bluebell Railway - Sunday 15th June 2008
Over 80 enjoyed their Fathers Day visit to the railway.
Sainsury's Active Kids & Tescos Vouchers 2008
Thank you for your collection last year - we collected enough for the trampoline bouncer, the 'blue cheese' (for coaching backward rolls and walkovers) together with ropes, hoops and other equipment.We will be collecting up and coming Sainsbury & Tesco vouchers, both Sport, Active Kids and Computers.
Arts Festival Competition - March 2008
Our ninth Arts Festival Competition attracted over a hundred gymnasts. The competition featured Beam Pairs, Hoop Pairs and Ribbon solos, culminating in the very popular Acrobatic Sixes. An audience of nearly 200 were entertained by the artistic entries created by the girls. Congratulations to everyone who took part, with particular congratulations to Elisha Duffy, winning the Junior Overall title and to Georgina Harrison winning the Senior Overall title. Gym Extra - 2008
240 gymnasts have enjoyed additional activities this year :- table-tennis, trampolining, ten-pin bowling and visits to the Blubell Railway and the Guildford Spectrum.
Ten Pin Bowling Competition - February 2008
We entered two teams into this annual competition - organised by the Neighbourhood Youth Service. This year we came 1st & 2nd - well done to both teams, particularly the Thursday seniors on winning. Congratulations to Nicola Horrell on winning Highest Scoring Bowler.
We have arranged a session for gymnasts and parents for next term.
Tee-shirts and Leotards
Our grant funding is enabling us to provide heavily subsidised Tee-shirts for all gymnasts - only £2 each, while stocks last! All sizes of new leotards are currently available through the club.

As far as we know all classes are full for this and for next term. New applicants are being put on a first-come first-served waiting list. Please let us know as soon as possible if you want a place.
